FROM THE ORGANISERS OF THE PHYTOCONFERENCE IN DENVER, SEPT 24-26
The Conference agenda and listing of presentations has been posted on
the Phyto Society website(http://www.phytosociety.org). Please take a
look - we have scheduled 3 concurrent sessions to showcase the 77
platform presentations. The two poster sessions have 46 poster
presentations.
This is most comprehensive conference on this topic in the world this
year. Please spread the word to those who might benefit from attending.
Logistical notes:
Tours
There is an additional tour opportunity for Wednesday afternoon: The
new EPA headquarters in downtown Denver has recently opened. It is
LEEDS certified, with many green features including a Green roof, solar
cells, innovative lighting, and eco friendly materials. Because this
building is much closer to the conference hotel than the other tour
destinations, this tour will likely return to the hotel by 4 pm. The
other tours will not be back until 5 or 5:30.
You may sign up for this tour at the conference. You may also switch
from one tour to another without penalty on Monday of the conference.
Because the Rocky Mountain Arsenal is located very close to the Denver
International Airport, it might be advantageous to leave directly for
the airport after the tour, rather than returning downtown. If you are
planning on getting a rental car for the conference, you may follow the
tour bus to the site, and depart from RMA following the tour. If you
need a ride to the airport immediately following the tour, please let
me know and I will make arrangements. A taxi or shuttle from Downtown
Denver to DIA at that time of day may take 90 minutes. From RMA to DIA
by taxi would take about 20 minutes.
Hotel
The conference hotel still has a few rooms available during the
conference, and the deadline for registering at the conference rate of
$127 per night has been extended until Sept.4. To reserve a room at the
Adams Mark Hotel call 1-800-444-2326.
Please excuse any repeat emails-- and pass them on.
See you in Denver!
